Spy drama Spooks will return for an eighth series, the BBC has today confirmed.

The show, which will wrap up its current run next Monday, has regularly secured ratings of over 5.7 million for the broadcaster.

Executive producer Simon Crawford Collins said: “Spooks is currently enjoying an exceptional run on BBC One and BBC Three and viewers will be shocked when this series ends with a sting in its tale.

“As for next year… we’re currently working with our fantastic team of writers to predict the big stories for 2009 to keep Spooks‘ prescience in these dramatically changing times.”

Richard Armitage, who stars as Lucas North in the espionage show, added: “I’m thrilled with the response we’ve had to this series and I can’t wait to find out what the next series has in store. 

“If the climatic episodes at the end of series seven are anything to go by, I think series eight will be spectacular. I am excited about taking Lucas into deeper and more dangerous territory, and seeing if he can survive!”

Series eight of Spooks will begin production next March and debut on BBC One later in 2009.

Is it right to treat people who you have worked with for over 2 years like shit just to fit in with and get in the good book of a newcomer? Well this is certainly a question on many peoples lips in my field of work at the moment.

People who create pointless problems, just for the sake of creating them, and then don’t even face the music when they are rumbled, should be shot in the head, point blank. It seems to me that making trouble and staring shit is at the top of peoples agendas, and that not fulfilling this agenda is like personal sacrilege.

Personal Rant Over.

Just take a look around at people today, an decide weather you know the real them or not. The chances are the answer will probably be no. Because we tend to accept people upon face value and derive a conclusion on their character from that, however we have not been told this is wrong yet, only in racial or religious circumstances. If the situation is not one of the above then it is perfectly normal to judge based on first impressions or simply face value.

Why do people feel this change necessary? Is it an excuse to use the sorry state or modern society to have a little experiment with themselves and see how many people they can manage to piss off in a day? Or is it the fact that they actually don’t care what people think and they are ‘just doing what they want’?  Either way i think it’s ridiculous that change is a result of some pre-madonna’istic view of life and the people within it.

As i always do when i have a re-design, i also shuffle things around. This time i have decided to start-a-fresh and go the whole hog and delete previous archived posts. So i guess this is a ‘Hello World’, first entry post.

I have recently got back into bloging after i started my reflective blog as part of my Degree in Broadcast Media, i would show it to you but you need to be a student at Hull to view it. It takes me back to the good old days of my technical {geeky} blogs and the lengthy {not} reviews i wrote on new gadgets and stuff.

So here goes, lets see if it works, or if i get fed up with this design and format. I don’t know about you but it really like the HUGE title. It makes me feel all important and stuff.

Just before i go, i will mention {rather than post a new blog on it, and hide this one} that i went to see the new movie ‘Quarantine’ last night. I really enjoyed shitting my pants on a regular basis, it was rather humorous for the people sitting behind me. I would give it * * * *  as i feel there wasn’t enough character development/background and that the film would have benefited from that.

However, it is a must see if you are into your Horror like me.
